Milanese Sampler - Done!

My Milanese Sampler is done, and I'm very pleased with it. My sewings aren't the best, but it looks good to me. This little sampler is filled from beginning to end with all the techniques I've learned. Excuse me while I pat myself on the back. Okay, I'm done now.

On to something new. I got my confirmation for the Hungarian Lace Class at the GLLG's Spring Fling, and I'm almost dancing with excitement and anticipation. I scanned the patterns and printed them out on heavy blue paper. I think I'm going to do Pattern #2, and I know I need to practice plaits and picots.

I will also get started sewing my new 'accessories'. Other gals buy new shoes, or get their hair done; I'm all excited about a new tote bag for my pillow and bobbins. Throw in some matching worker cloths, and I'm in heaven!

Hi Lenore,
I was just in looking at all you lace stuff and find it pretty good for a beginner, another pat on the back for you. Do you have a Hungarian Lace book and if so where did you get it and what is the name of it? I would be interested in trying it myself, I think!

Hi Barbara,

I don't have a book, only 4 prickings from Louise Colgan's class at GLLG's Spring Fling. Hungarian Tape Lace, by Elizabeth Groszberg is out of print, but if you are a member of IOLI, you can borrow it from their library.
