Progress on my Hungarian Lace Mat

I worked about 3 hours Monday and another hour on Tuesday. I made good progress, getting through pivots, sewings, false plaits and the tight point turn. I'm quite pleased that I remembered what I learned plus my notes were good enough to get me through when my memory failed me.
When I sit down this morning, I'll have another false plait, then a pivot point and the filling of plaits and picots in the center of the petal. I zipped through the easy part of the petal yesterday and made sure I stopped before things got tough. Hopefully I can tackle this while I'm fresh this morning.
It's too bad the weather is so crummy. We have gray skies and intermittant showers. No sunshine to help these tired eyes see the threads.

I'm back from Spring Fling

Here's a peek at my Hungarian Tape Lace after 13 hours of class time. I loved this class, the Spring Fling was wonderful! Louise Colgan is a great teacher, I learned new techniques and asked many, many questions.
The GLLG's Spring Fling was amazing, and I'm very glad I went. I didn't know anyone, and was a bit apprehensive, since I'm not a social butterfly. Everyone was warm and friendly. I was delighted to meet lacers and tatters whose names I recognized from lace lists, and renew acquaintance with others.
This project uses 9 pairs, #80 DMC thread. The mat will be about 5" square when it's done.

Pillow Tote, Bobbin Case and Kaylee

I've been sewing this week, and finished a tote bag for my pillow and a bobbin case. I've also cut and hemmed 3 worker cloths. I have yet to finish a pincushion and a case for other tools; including a pin lifter, crochet hooks and magnifying glass. I put a pocket inside the pillow tote, large enough to hold an 8x11" pricking. I'll put velcro on the sides of the tote, right now it is a flat rectangle. I like to open the tote so it's flat, place my pillow on it, and seal the edges like an envelope. Kaylee insisted that she wanted to be included in the picture, so you get a peek of her distinctive Airedale profile.
