Romanian Point Lace Snowflake

I sat down this afternoon and finished it up. I managed to remove it from the pattern intact! After I put it on the scanner, I could see it needs a good washing and I need to snip a few more threads. I'm glad it's done, and I can exchange it at our Lace Group meeting in January. I will start working on more braid, and consider what my next project will be.

Aftermath

This is all that's left of my latest project. I finished the tatted edging and attached it to a hanky for my mom.

I was in such a rush to get it in the mailbox before the mailman came by, that I never took a picture. I had just slapped tape on the back of the envelope, when it struck me - I don't have a picture! It was rather lovely, all variegated blue and just a bit of a ruffle.

The most important thing is it's in the mail, and now it's up to the US Postal system to get it to Texas before Christmas. I doubt that will happen, but since I originally planned to give it to Mom this summer, I'll be happy if she gets it before the New Year.

Not much lace this week

I haven't been making much lace these days. I discovered I could knit without too much pain, and I've been working on warm stuff for my family. The slippers are the hardest on my hands. I use 2 strands of Red Heart acrylic and #8 dpns, and can make a slipper sock in 2 or 3 days. I can knit about 10 rounds and then my hands get tired, so I've been doing little things in between knitting my 10 rounds. It's actually fairly productive - I'm getting a start on cleaning for Christmas dinner with my family.

Then I found this personality test, and who can resist that? I'm not sure how accurate it is. I wouldn't call myself goofy, and honestly, "brilliant" is a huge overstatement.
